14 April 2014 | Zuid-Afrika, Nelspruit

Monday we began our long journey ( almost an entire day) back from Richard's Bay to Nelspruit. Saying goodbye to my family was really emotional, but than again so is this whole trip! We are going to have to keep contact with each other and make plans to meet again in the (hopefully) near future!
When we got back at the end of the day, we just had time to have a nice meal with Elize and Cecil and repack our bags for our next trip before we fell onto bed due to exhaustion :P
Tuesday we left for Graskop! It was time for me to take THE JUMP. I had booked a jump of the big swing, which is a free fall of a big mountain cliff, next to a waterfall! You are strapped into a harness which is attached to a bungy jump rope. It was absolutely amazing!! The first sound that I let out during the jump was me yelling: THIS IS AWESOME!! The guys that strapped me in were utterly disappointed because they were expecting screams and crying... Little did I know that there was going to be enough of the latter later that day!
After my jump we went to Graskop to enjoy a pancake at the famous Harrie's Pancakes and to buy some more (although I already got way too much) souvenirs. After that we went to God's Window, which was already a magical place on it's own.. But just when I was taking in the amazing view we had from our little spot, Jaap surprised me by getting down on one knee, taking out a little box with a gorgeous diamond ring in it and asking me to marry him!!! My heart was beating so fast that I was afraid it was going to burst out of my chest! I started crying and even asked him whether or not I was really awake or just dreaming! He (with tears in his eyes) convinced me that I wasn't dreaming, at which point I flung myself at him, started crying and somehow managed to say: Yes, Yes, Yes!!! At that point Hugo had gotten hold of the box with the ring in it and he tried to get away with the ring :P
Luckily he gave it back to Jaap, who then took my left hand and gently put the ring on my ring finger! So from now on he's officially mine and I'm officially his <3 I already love being engaged!!! After that the rest of the day went by in a haze.. I was too happy to really realise where we were and what we were doing. We checked into a log home in Hazyview and had a braai while we called our families to tell them Our news! Everybody was really happy for us, which only added to my feeling of bliss! Wednesday we went to a reptile park where we got two really cool demonstrations with several snakes.
After that we went to Induna adventures in Hazyview for an archery workshop.
Thursday we went for a Quadbike ride... Man was I scared!!!
We went through the bush which was Hippo and snake territory :O
The whole time I was afraid that the bike was going to tip over and land right on top of me!! And at night Jaap and I went to a fancy restaurant and had a nice romantic night out ;)
However, dining at Nelspruit's finest restaurant did make me realise that Jaap could never be happy here, the quality of food, even where we ate is far below the standard that he is used to working at!
Friday morning we took our last walk with Elize and Cecil. We tried to see the sunrise, unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans and she decided to make it so clouded and misty that we couldn't see any thing.
After that it was time to say goodbye to my dear aunt and uncle!! It was time to leave for Pretoria, to visit my Ouma and Uncle Loot and my Nephew Luan.
I cried so hard when it was time to say goodbye to Elize and Cecil! When you spend that much time with your family only to be separated again, it really hurts...
But let's stay focused on the positive things!
When we arrived at Ouma's place, Luan came to spend some time with us.
It's been over ten years since we last saw each other but we picked up right were we left off.
Saturday we went to the mall to buy my mom pearl earrings. Guess what happened... I got myself a lot of pearls as well :P
And Sunday morning we went back to the mall to get even more!!
After that we went to the Voortrekkers Monument together with Luan, it's so impressive to see the history of the Voortrekkers like that! We all had dinner together both on Saturday and Sunday! :)
Monday we went on the Cable carts that took us up the mountain at Hartbeespoortdam.
Now this is going to be my last blog that I upload from SA. Since I don't have internet at my Ouma's place and we're going back to the Netherlands tomorrow!
